Trebanos RFC Fishing Tour October 2007
"Porky" and "Beans" Bag Some Beauties (for a change!)

Prop Richard Walker and scrum half Jason Bailey with the salmon they caught on the River Nith in Dumfriesshire. Richard bagged an 18 pounder and Jason an 8 pounder, both were returned to the river. Six members of Trebanos RFC made the trip, Jason Bailey, Damien Williams, Roy Bowen, John, Richard and Andrew Walker.
As you can see, only "Beans" and "Porky" done the business! Reputedly, a lot of salmon were caught in the hotel bar. Apparently former Secretary, Roy Bowen, had a wet trip, fishing underwater for the salmon.
On the way home, the boys witnessed a car crashing off the motorway, spiralling in the air before crashing down a steep embankement, through a hedge and trees, eventually landing upside down. Needless to say, the lads stopped and rescued the car's occupants, with no thought for their own safety. PC Damien Williams was in charge, Beans and Porky his lieutenants, and everbody else lending a hand until the emergency services arrived. We are glad to say that the occupants of the car, a young lad and a young woman, are OK, the young lady suffering only a broken shoulder.
Well done lads!
